Anyone been accepted to Macadonia 9/16 or still waiting for interview? Just applied mid-dec and got my UC email about week later. Just waiting on interview. It seems they real interested in my education background (Degree and Work History). I am over 50 which should help as it seems peace corp is trying recuit more senior members into the program.

I and my wife applied back at the end of September 2015, received the UC email for Macedonia a week later. Nary a peep after that. We're with you - hoping updates and interview details show up in our inboxes sooner than later!

I am also considering rapid reponse options - retired - professional education career ( my only concern would be learning lang skills in 12 months or less to be successful on a project)

Anyone out there been through rapid response without being return peace volunteer? Any info would be appreciate (esp about lang skills)

I was not response corps, but we had several response corps volunteers in Bulgaria that did not learn Bulgarian extensively. From what I recall, all of the response corps volunteers were placed in an organization with a high level of English so there was no language barrier. They were basically given a dictionary and sent out to site the day they arrived. I believe that with response corps the volunteer is usually more organizational specific, not going in to work with an entire community, so communicating with the people in your organization is the most important part.

I applied way back before August-ish for a Macedonia position with an application close date for January 1st. I got an interview notice in the beginning of December and am now waiting for notice. I was told that things would close the 1st and interviews would be finished then before I would hear anything about the next stage.

What positions did everyone apply for? I applied for Special Education.

Primary Education Teacher Trainer - Macedonia 9/16

Still waiting for interview but only about 14 days since being UC for Macedonia (know by date is Mar 1)

A peace corp recruiter told me I could also apply for rapid response project so I did that yesterday (maybe improve my odds or not - figured would in a smaller pool of applicants) English Instructor for Vocational Training (Rwanda)

Yeah was told not expect lang training -  that if a lang was not required then could expect the people in organization prob speak and understand english (prob more educated than what might meet in reg peace corp)

Wahoo!! Congrats on all the UC's.

Ya, 14 days isn't a big deal at all. I waited quite a while before any UC message after applying and longer then for an interview. You have time.
