Ukraine 2017
« on: March 09, 2016, 02:31:50 PM »
Hi All,

So my anxious mind is getting the best of me.  Im excited for hopefully some good news as to my next step.  Anyone else being considered for Ukraine departing in March 2017?  Or just want to chat while we patiently await news on the next email for interview, medical, etc.?

Good luck to both of you! I'll be heading to Ukraine this September (pending medical clearance) with group 50.

I just had my interview Friday and it seemed to go well, although I have yet to hear anything back. Did anyone else have theirs?

I received my invitation for the Ukraine 2017 at the end of last month. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope to hear about others receiving theirs soon.

Yes finally I here about another individual receiving their invitation. That's exciting. What job did you get assigned to.

A community youth development specialist. It's good to hear from another youth worker.

I applied for youth worker, interviewed for specialist, and got an invitation for a youth worker. My recruiter said that essentially, they're all the same. The specialist just means you have more experience, although the applicant pool is much more competitive because of that. So on the basic level, I was qualified for the specialist position, but there were more applicants with more qualifications than me (like I only have a bachelors degree, not my masters) and so I was invited to be a youth worker.

I had Ukraine as my first preference, but they instead sent me a UC for Georgia. Ukraine doesn't leave until September, but Georgia leaves in April. I wonder if this might be the case? I am new to all of this so we will see.

Once you are here in Ukraine you will simply be in Youth Development- no difference  :)
