Skills Addendum?!
« on: December 02, 2016, 06:42:12 PM »
Hey guys!
I finally heard back from Peace Corps about my application, but instead of it being an interview (wah!), the specialist asked for me to complete a skills addendum for the education sector. Reading the generic email, it almost seemed like I was on the borderline of being dropped out of the candidate pool if I didn't prove myself ASAP. Not to mention filling out the assessment I felt super unqualified for the position b/c of the amount of experience I didn't have in all of the areas, except a bit of tutoring abroad.

Has this been an experience for others as well? Does the skill addendum typically work out for people or is this where people go wrong?

I was asked to fill out a skills addendum before my interview and it was not much of an issue, but this was when we did not get to choose which country to apply to. They had me fill out two skills addendums- one in agriculture and one in YD and then I suppose they used those to decide which I was a better fit for.

I wouldn't stress on it too much. If anything else, it is just them making sure you would be a good fit for a particular program and giving the interviewer more specific questions to ask you.
