Welcome to the Peace Corps Forum

My wife and I are Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCV) and hope that you will use this site to share information and experiences so others will learn from them.

Please don't be a "lurker", go ahead and register to become a member and post.  This Forum will only be successful when we get enough people actively sharing their information.

We welcome any suggestions and feedback.

Yay!  Nice way to stay in touch and help other people thinking about doing Peace Corps.  I also hope it catches on.  Marion, if you have access to the new Bots groups on facebook you should post this link.  I will also let some RPCVs from other places know about it.

Thanks for doing this! It seems like PCVs are somewhat scattered in the interwebs. Hopefully this can be a central place for PCV communication!

That is what I was thinking.  There are no other true Forum sites out there for people interested in the Peace Corps, this can be it.  I think this type of web site is very useful, because people can easily look back or search for threads on the topics that they are wondering about.   I would appreciate any suggestions you may have to make this better.

Glad to find this forum! I am just starting out in my service, I'll be heading for Tanzania in February 2014. I would love to see a topic section for medical clearance issues, as this is what has been most difficult for me at the moment!

This may have been addressed already, but I wonder if there is a way to get the Peace Corps itself to list this as a resource for potential volunteers....not sure how that process works, but would definitely help in "getting the word out"!

Another potential avenue would be the NPCA. They're really big on RPCVs and are starting to get active with serving volunteers and applicants/invitees.

Great advice everyone...

I have sent an email to request a link on the Peacecorps.gov site.  That is a long shot but if it were to happen then everyone would know about it.  I also think this web site and the Peacecorps.gov site would go together quite well.

I am working to get a link on John Coyne's site: Peace Corps Worldwide.  http://peacecorpsworldwide.org/   John has said he would add a link.  The link isn't there yet, but that will be a win for our site (and his).

The most important thing is for all of you guys to do your part.
  • Add content to the site.  Join in the conversation.  Post your questions, answers and experiences.
  • If you see this Forum as something good.... then tell people about it, put links to it on sites you visit, etc.

Thanks for your help

Is this page in any way connected to Peace Corps? I did not see a disclaimer.

This is in no way connected to the Peace Corps, just an RPCV trying to doing something good.  The disclaimer is there on the first page you see.
